See, THAT I have no problems with (I run 2 lights, a heavy and an assault). Make the minimum at least 160 (stops them from taking 2 CDAs, and 2 lights.), and we're good to go. Also, don't think about just the mechs we have right now. Think about what happens when the arctic cheetah arrives.

The problem isn't getting to many damned heavies and assaults. The problem is there are to many (IS) Lights.

The current lower limit is at 160 tons which allows for 4 CDS and while you may be good at playing lights along with your heavy and an assault, for me I suck at playing lights they just end up as cannon fodder because I had to fill the other spots to make weight. .

Practice my friend. You need to do it. Or come up with a different deck that can accommodate the most mechs you are comfortable with. It takes time, but honestly, practice will help a lot. Grind out a few dozen pug drops in lights, to help you out.

My comment is at the current state of the weight limit to response of the guy complaining about to many heavies and assaults with the new limit. Which frankly the heavies and assaults are not as much off a threat as the IS lights...

What we NEED is more Clan Mechs or at least mechs like the Jenner but (IIC)ed for us to use. Frankly the lights we have right now are not the best at filling the typical light roll. Give clans some of the IS mechs the clans left with, and then we'll see how the game self balances.

Honestly I think the IS needs their drop tonnage increased not the clans. I can do a lot of things with 240 tons. Basically people are going to whine either way might as well give them less of an excuse.

Exactly (on the more clan mechs bit). The Arctic Cheetah will be clocking in at 142 Kph with speed tweak. That's as fast as most IS lights (Most Firestarters use an XL 270 or 275 -puts them at 140 kph- to fit the guns they need so they don't move that much faster than this anyways). Except this little monster is gonna pack clan lasers and SSRMs, amongst other things.

Basically, once the clans have a light that goes over 140Kph, we can talk more about balancing mechs, and drop deck limits.
