Hello,

I was a member of a Merc unit ('Death's Hand Bridage') until yesterday evening. I decided that I prefer clan tech to IS, and accordingly I want to join a clan unit. Currently, I have a pending invite to that clan unit but when I attempt to accept it I receive the following error:

"Unable to accept unit invite. Your current contract prevents you from switching to a different faction."

If I go to my 'Break Contracts' screen, I see a contract to House Davion with a remaining time of a little over one day. I cannot break this contract. Previously, the contract had a significantly longer duration, and I spent 350k cbills to break it. Now I am stuck. I cannot break this contract, I cannot reset or change my faction (as I am no longer a member of a unit, my understanding is that I should be able to select any faction I like), and I cannot participate in community warfare at all.

Please advise. I have opened a support ticket but received no response, including no automated email response to my initial support request.

From support:

Breaking a Faction Contract currently incurs a 2-day cooldown period on top of the C-bill cost, but we may be adjusting this cooldown period a little lower in the future. Once that duration is complete you should be able to start a new Faction Contract without issue.
