But true lovers of this design like the smooth surface - every shot from every direction hits a 30° angeled plate - so shots that may destroy a heavy mech simple bounce off.
The sturdy Imperator Smooth-bore Heavy Autocanone in a easy to reach - simple to maintain weapon mount has a revolutionary revoler reload system - allowing an impressive barrage - at extra range.
Of course the compact reactor seems to be a draw back - but the advanced lifters and traction controll of the Urban Mech legs allow this mech to reach impressive 390 inch per second and to turn on a dime.
The compact reactor leaves enough room to mount additional reserve magazines for the Auto cannon.

And of course there is the price - you can not beat a Urban Mech when it comes to buy one. You want that shiny Atlas - but wich Atlas can carry 12 Heavy Autocanons?

The Urban Mech can - buy 2 and get the 3 as present.

Only for those without imagination.
A 30t Mech with a Tier 9 Quirks for its AC 10? - a company of them will destroy a Dire Wulf in 2 seconds.
And they are small - you can place 3 Urban Mechs in the map location of a single Thunderbolt

You can have two Highlanders and two Urban Mechs in your CW drop deck - so you can assault with 4 Assault Mechs

Without any customization options they were worth more than their BV in an urban combat map when used in the TT. They were a mech specialized to Urban Combat at the expense of everything else. Extremely strong point for point when in their element, extremely weak and barely cannon fodder outside of it.

In MWO we do have extensive customization options -and- plenty of factors that are not covered by the TT that are required when transitioning into a real time game. Then we have things like Quirks which now take that far further.

How well a mech does in the TT is a completely useless metric when analyzing how well a mech will do in MWO. To do so is to be closed minded about the subject. To use a misinformed value of that mech in the TT is even worse.

In Solo-PUG ? It would hardly make any difference. Your team either carries or it doesn't; and who in these forums hasn't been regularly spectating out of a Direwolfs cockpit that was obviously piloted by an epileptic squirrel?

Unless enormously quirked (fully automatic AC10s anyone? ) i guess they'd be quite the liability in CW though.

Its going to be pretty heavily quirked i'd imagine.

My guess is it will naturally run a smaller engine without the external heatsink penalty (hence the A/C 10 load out).

It will probably have about a 300° torso twist.

And a ton of armor/structure/and ballistic (A/C10) quirks.

I think the Urbanmech is a mech that would never make it to MWO if the quirk system didn't exist.

You got one Main weapon and a Secondary. This idea of having 6 weapons systems is "kiddy".

There is an advantage in simplicity you have less to worry about.

I listened to Russ last night and I don't think PGI will turn this game into a joke. They are very serious about making this game "tactical thinking" and "team playing. Please forget the Urban Mech and think about the next wave of mechs coming next year. We are in 3049. New tech/mechs are coming according to LORE.
