I have an older PC, Duo Core, 2.4 Ghz Processor.

Also have a Mac Pro I use for work, new, Quad Core, alotta heat under the hood.

Any thoughts about running this game off an Emulator?

probably possible but I don't think you'll get much help from tech support.

Generally this... Even Apple will only support you running an emulator so far on their machines if you had to call about random crashes or something. Worst case scenario is that it doesn't run. Best case scenario it runs perfect, and more -likely-, it'll run but it'll be unstable as ****.

Your better bet would be something like Bootcamp or Parallels - where you run Windows on its own, not emulated / virtualized. The reason for this is that most emulation and virtualization software does a poor job with 3D graphics, and this game will put heavy demands on a system in that regard.

Also, the devs have officially stated that they are not supporting use on a Mac in any fashion. It may work, but you are on your own ;)

I thought most of the Quad-Core Macs had the ability to install Windows on them as an alternative boot-up. I remember reading about that a while back, so Mac Gamers could do their real work on OS and then boot up Windows for Games or Windows-centric programs.

I guess it comes down to $$$. How much is one willing to spend to play a free game.

Buy new, upgrade old, or go home.

Your better off running the game off bootcamp, if you use the emulator you will use alot of resources, your online game play will be pretty choppy for your online play. If you want to test this out, try it out with another high intense graphics game

So Bootcamp's "virtualization" will run online games without the chop & stutter? Any one out there tried this?

(I know its a silly Q since if you could afford a high end Mac, you could buy/build 2 MegaSweet PCs... ;) )

Boot Camp isn't "emulation" it's dual-booting.

Grim, if you've spent the $1800+ on an MBP that's remotely gaming-capable, another $100 to make it gaming-capable on the software side should be chump change.

Will MWO run on WINE? Probably. Will it run smoothly, or any time soon after launch? Probably not.
