It's a bad joke but I had to say it since it has been stuck in my head and won't go away unless I do.

Horse hocky!.. in BT books Vlad was givin it good to Phelan Kells sweetheart on the Clan side when he was captured Phelan saw this and was Jealous. Sibkin are known to couple and discuss personal intimate life dealings even if they were grown in the same Vat batch , ( stronger Bond ) and do not look at sex the same as Inner sphere surats. I am not fully sure but I think they are grown sterile and have to be vat made from Genetic materials.

A down side but hey Everything on the Clan side is BIGGER and BETTER!

I stand corrected just conditioned sex for reproduction as a filthy act and not Trueborn but Freebirth.

When he arrived he was extremely ill, but Peri nursed him back to health. They enjoyed a brief intimate interlude (and conceived a child, Diana Pryde Diana ), before Aidan was recaptured by their former Falconer, Star Captain Joanna , and taken back to Ironhold .<ref>''Way of the Clans ...

It's been a recurring Sci-Fi theme for years. I think Gattaca does a pretty good job of illustrating it well.

I liken it to a modern derivative of the cardinal virtues from Plato's writings and the indomitable human spirit.

I later told the joke to my wife who does not know anything about BT franchise, with a bit of explaining. She said it was funny, so I guess either the joke was passable, or she just loves me too much not to laugh along. ;)

because it's hard to pop a baby through the wangs that female clan warriors have. They're normally bigger than the male's but still it's a rather narrow choke point to pop a baby through

It's not that they're sterile by default, but that "both males and females received long-term contraceptive implants while infants".

This is explicitly stated in the Dark Age novel Flight of the Falcon, in reference to how "among the Clans sexual liaisons between sibkin were not remarkable and were not discouraged" and the (extra-close and extra-skeezy) relationship between sibkin Aleksandr Hazen and Malvina Hazen (the only two of their sibko to survive to maturity, and who actually referred to each other as "brother" and "sister").

Though, Warriors of Kerensky states, "Despite advances in genetic screening, the Clans still retain a form of i****t taboo. Clan law discourages the combining of genes from closely related warriors, usually taken to be within three generations."

So, what does that make of Diana Pryde, as the freeborn daughter of two trueborns from the same sibko? :o
