Hey,

This is not super important, but by spending felt "hours" in this screen, for me personally the music loop has a kind of sad and depressive mood. This should maybe underline the sorrowness single players feel when trying to get into a match, who knows? ;) ;P

Sure, I could switch musics off, but in general I like the sound and music design very much - full credit to the designers (!) - this particulary sound track feels as a not optimal "choice".

Just my thoughts while waiting in pre-queue for "Broccoli" cluster drop...

Cheers

I turned in-game music off a while ago. Play some Tswift instead :)

PGI basically doesn't care about music at all. I'm guessing all the devs prefer to listen to their own music when they play and assume most FPS players do the same.

It really makes me quite sad because so many computer games have been made far more memorable by their soundtracks. Some computer games have soundtracks that are downright legendary among gamers, and I dare say the Mechwarrior games belong in that group of games. Particularly MW2, MW2: Mercs and the MechCommander games. But not MWO.

The design is not bad, but like you said it could be stronger. It could be a bit better in provocing certain emotions to BattleTech universe, like different themes for the Houses (heard in queue) for example or a strong motive in general. Some Battlemech Hero Promo clips had a good emotional touch.

PGI/Community could produce/chose examples for the houses and clans.

I don't listen to music because I need to hear the alerts, weapon firing sounds, and other things to be completely effective.

While playing the music is off anyways. It's about in menus and the general atmosphere of the ip.

I happen to like the CW music. It has that "space" feel to it. I just wish it was longer so it wouldn't loop so much.
