It's interesting to compare difference between Clan and IS, especially when talking about CW. IS may seem disadvantaged by not having an ECM heavy, but then on the other hand Clanners are disadvantaged by not having anything with the ability of the IS lights.
I play as a Clanner due to lore and nostalgia reasons (MW2 was my first and most loved) and I like the fact that there are advantages and disadvantages to both sides. Whilst defending in CW, I feel quite confident in our ability to manage med-long range firing lines whilst using focus-fire to cut down priority targets in a hurry but when a couple of fast lights break through the line, that's what really sparks the heart rate as their speed and agility is a completely different kettle of fish.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that no matter what way you look at it, Clan v IS should not be a 100% parity situation. For the sake of lore and entertaining gameplay, it's better for each side to be balanced in different ways.
i could not agree with you more. Asymmetry is paramount to this game being interesting. I'm not suggestions something should mimic the Hellbringer. I'm merely suggesting we should have an ECM option that can also fight and doesn't weigh 100 tons. That's why CW is mentioned. If you want a powerful ECM mech you have to bring an Atlas, which limits options for the rest of your drop deck.
