That said, the 1N is... difficult to use effectively. It is a harasser with enough speed to dictate range against all heavies and assaults and a good amount of mediums.
Now the Grand Dragon, which replaces the AC5 with a PPC, that is a powerful beast.

With as much ammo as the 1N carries, it actually can deliver some hideous levels of suppressive fire, if you're willing to move fast and don't care about precision targeting. And the AC/LRM combo doesn't stress your sinks too much. If they're going with the more Solaris-style heat system, having that AC/5 can be a gawdsend vs. the heat-spiking PPC.
