Anybody got a similar set-up to me and how will it cope?

As you can see in the CPU-z pic on the memory tab it says -

Now that says the ram is running at 800Mhz yet the ram I have is this -

Gskill DDR3 2gb pc10666 1333 nq series

and the mother board is this -

EVGA NF790i SLI ultra DDR3 LGA775
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813188025

The system is overclocked to 3.6Ghz from when I bought it and my motherboard has a max ram amount of 8gig
But I don't know what ram to buy (do I just add another 2 sticks of 2gig or buy 2 sticks of 4gig) plus will it affect the overclock?

The reason your RAM is running at 800mhz is because your running a 400 fsb(400fsb * 9multi = 3600mhz CPU speed) and the RAM/CPU ratio is aparently set at 2:1. If you were to increase the OC on the CPU by increasing your FSB, your RAM would run at faster speeds. Your RAM is rated for up to DDR3 1333mhz speeds, but it doesn't have to run those speeds to work.

If you would like to up your RAM to 8 gigs, I highly suggested buying a second set of the exact same RAM you already have.

Does 800Mhz DDR3 RAM even exist? may be just a typo?

Anyway, about VRAM, it's an onboard DDR5 RAM on GPU, and 64-bit OS will allow to use all 4Gb of RAM.

Unless MWOL has separate 32 and 64 bit executable (which is unlikely) than it will use 2Gb of RAM max even on 64-bit OS. Also unknown factor is multi-core support and optimization.

All this will be moot, if network code sucks. No matter how powerful you PC is, if servers are lagging, game-play will be horrible. If it is solid, than you just drop the resolution or details and off you go.

Yeh 800Mhz was first gen ddr3. It is slow compared to newer ddr3.

I thought CPU-Z reads RAM frequency as it's original or however you say, basically times whatever CPU-Z is saying by two, since the first "D" on "DDR3" means double. Mine says 700MHz for RAM while the RAM overall is running at 1400Mhz. CPU-Z reads it weirdly in short.

Ok done a couple of tests today and here are the results -

Heaven DX11 Benchmark 3.0
Posted Image

CryEngine 3 SDK
This screen shot shows 64.4 FPS
Posted Image

This one shows - 43.8 FPS
Posted Image

These screen shots where set to using 1920x1080 in a window because there was no option for my native screen resolution of 1600x1200 that's why you can see my desktop at the top and bottom of the screen shots.

Moving through the forest it seem to hover around the 60 - 70fps range and occasionally dipped to high 40's and low 50's.

Would it be worth upgrading the ram to 8gig or do you think it will be ok to run MWO as my system stands now?

Also if I do add another 4gig to my system (2 sticks of 2gig) would it affect the clock or would it be fine?

I think it would be worth it, but your system will run it as is.

You would more than likely have to redo the OC.
