I honestly don't know what to do with this mech anymore. There's a special place in my heart for the good old DS, being my first hero mech, but I cannot have as much fun in it as I used to. Ive been through the 2ac5 srm and ML phase, the ac10 2 lpl phase, even the lrm boat phase, but now I can't seem to put anything together that's even remotely enjoyable to run around in. I've even tried to poptart and snipe with ERLL and gauss+ppc combos. I've also limited myself to building with my xl375 because below 81, it's a nightmare to maneuver.

Anyone have any build suggestions/feel the same way about our once-great poptarting mechs?

I don't own one.
But I can tell you for sure how many times I've been dismantled by a 3xSRM6/AC20 one.

Forgive me if this isn't the Dragon Slayer, maybe a different Victor..

I just don't try to meta it, mine works just fine....... Gauss, ERLL, 2xMLs.

It's not what it once was. I still have some solid games with AC 10, 2 x PPC, 2 x SRM4. The AC 10 and PPC fire really well together, Why the SRM's give you some punch up close. It runs a little hot but not unmanageable.

Died with the poptart meta, along with most of the Victor race.

Edit: Wow, I forgot about highlanders. Never see them anymore either.

I don't drive my Victors anymore.

I started playing in a 9B about 3 weeks before the first major nerf to them, being the -20% mobility nerf across the board.
They were still playable, but it was hard.
Then came the smorgasbord or JJ nerfs killing it slowly.
Then came the Clans, and the PPC nerf and I stopped playing any of my Victors at all.

I keep them in the hangar, waiting for the day when they might become useful again, but I'm not holding my breath.

If you can't do well with Gauss+Triple ERLLasers, then I don't know what to tell ya. Snipe endlessly from long range and abuse your asymmetrical hardpoints. You can also drop 2 tons of Gauss ammo and get a LPL in the left arm for some close range power.

Don't worry the victor will stay average at best among for a long time they tier 1 according to PGI.
