Dear PGI,
Can you add a way in the faction page for commanding officers to distribute C-bills to team mates. Our unit would like to altetnate between Clan and IS contracts. The problem is that a few of our members did not buy your clan packages and don't have enough Cbills to buy clan tech that will fill a drop deck. Many of our team mates play on premium time and have more C-bills than sense. We would like to be able to help our team mates who can't afford premium time or aren't skilled enough to earn 20M Cbills for a clan mech in a resonable amount of time. If we can add to the coffer we should be able to decide how it is spent. Those digital numbers represent many hours and real dollars of dedicated MWO pilots and fans. Please see if this is a possibility. Myself and team mates would be very grateful.
Thank you,
Brandon

I think you misconstrue the point of unit coffers. They won't be able to funnel cbills to individual members but to purchase things useable by the unit.

There is one problem here , in that once you allow people to 'trade' you start to get those nasty gold sellers pop up!

They will never allow this...
They have stated already they dont want people to be able to FARM cbills and then sell them to others like what you see in other MMO's and the like.
They also dont want people to be able to take all the Cbills from a Unit when they leave. This would allow you Commanding officer to gift himself all the cbills in your unit. disband it and then use that money for whatever he wanted.
It is not meant to substitute the grind it is for later when there will be things to buy for you unit. Better dropships, Better turrets, different base defenses, etc.

Oh.. I didn't think of that. People really do that? Sorry, this is my first multi-player online game.
Hmmm. Well maybe we can just buy him a clan pack or some premium time.

Yea, unfortunately people are often rude but more often people want to cheat the system. Diablo, WoW and other all have issues with people farming items and gold and then selling them on ebay or other places.
There is GIFTING now though! So if your Unit wanted to all collectively throw $5 or something down onto a Gift card of some sort and then use that to buy him a Pack here...https://mwomercs.com/gifts. Or setup a Paypal account and start saving cash to gift Clan Mechs.

Monetise it...
Monetise all of it; MC charge as if exchanging XP but with mechs/weapons too and only allow MC/Cbills to be transferred between players/units at a fixed exchange rate with no real $/£ changing hands. Mechs could be transferred with their tiers already unlocked for higher prices (the floor price would have to be the MWO MC price for mechs) or given market economy as it is, some kind of change would have to take place. May not be totally viable, but surely some kind of economy could be forged which benefits all.
It could even help alleviate the focus on punishing people with grind, which deters the player base. I guess a small charge would have to be paid on each side for using the 'market'.
Bingo.

Currently it is not clear what PGI plans for CW and coffer money. They said something that included cockpit items, LOL. I hope that the unit will be able to buy better dropships, turrets, airstrikes with that money. Or even buy a mech or a weapon for some new unit members that simply lack the money to buy all the stuff they need to participate. Never outside of the unit. But I doubt that anything like that will come true. I hate gold farmers but the whole grinding concept is pretty lame also. How is a new player supposed to get a decent dropdeck for CW in less than say 3-6 months? Mastered mechs with modules? Not everyone can play 8h a day. A medium mech in a competitive build easily costs about 8.000.000 C-Bills. Add 3 modules (2x3 Mio, 1x6 Mio) this makes 17 Mio C-Bills for one Mech. To master it you have to buy two additional variants (though not optimized them), so probably add another 10 Mio here. This way you end up paying 25-30 Mio C-Bills just to get 1 CW compatible Medium Mech. But you need 4. A good player can take about 200k out of a PIG win match taking usually 15minutes of wait+play time. Only half of the games are won though this makes 400k per hour. That's 300 hours of playtime. Considering that normal people will not have more than 2h of playtime a day, this means you need 150 days (while playing every single day) until you have a CW dropdeck. Let's half this as units will allow you to drop with an ok dropdeck lonbg before. Still 75 days or 2.5 months of constant grinding to get there... If PGI believes, that new players will play MWO in PUG mode for 3-6 months and then change to CW, they are wrong.
This is a rough calculation with a lot of assumptions, and it doesnt include buying C-Bills, Mastery Packs and stuff by real money. I dont want to calculate how many dollars you have to spend before having a decent dropdeck, I guess it would make me sick. I bet I could buy 2-3 full games for the amount.
