We've found that units that follow the intended rules of planetary conquest seem to be on the short end of the stick.
Let me explain, when your 4 man lance is the largest unit representation in a battle and they win, they get a ticket per win. In other words, a corp unit can just throw out 4 man lances to as many battles as they can support. Let's say they win half and lose half. Which means that the planetary conquest is not advancing at all.
On the other side, there's a full 12 man unit that literally brings a planet from 0 to 100% by winning 15-20 attack phases straight.
In the end, the 12 man unit doesn't conquer the planet because the 4 man lances from other units had more winning battles.
Am I the only one who thinks that the 12 man unit carried the day and got no recognition for it?

My understanding is that every player gets 1 ticket per win for there clan. So three groups of 4 players winning 3 different attacks earn a total of 12 tickets for there clan. One group of 12 members winning one attack will earn 12 tickets for there clan. The only difference is the ammount of wins it takes for smaller groups to earn the same number of tickets.
At the end cease fire, if the planet changes ownership the unit with the most tickets will be displayed on the planet.
