I do strafing all the time... Twist torso left or right, while turning legs 90 degrees and run like hell... It is amazing how few people in pugs can lead a target....

That isn't what he meant. In infantry FPS, you could look forward and press A or D to go left or right. I don't remember a mechwarrior game that allows us to do that.
