I think it would be a fun idea to have a special type of scoreboard. Basically the idea is that when you start a random pilot is generated that you command and play thru. While you win/lose your pilot gains title promotions under his "career history" and other information. This has no affect on you its just under that pilots personal history. The amount of missions taken, battles survived, injuries accumulated, and finally that last unlucky battle and date that causes them to kick the bucket is recorded. (ammo explosion, head shot, reactor explosion). "ejecting being the safest way to lose for you pilot". Players who have the top pilots have their pilot put on a scoreboard, as well as who commands them (you) displayed. Hell you could even add an achievement tree per pilot. Just a little competive psuedo hardcore gameplay idea to add another level of pvp, in this case seeing who can manage the best pilot.
I would like to add adding the option to not have your pilot participate in a match and being replaced with a "temporary blank" for those who accept suicide missions or have siblings.
Edit: Most used mech/ also a stat.
