Is artemis for lrm5s worth it? Can't decide to put it on or off with 6 lrm5s.

Faster lock-ons with LOS, but that's the only bonus. Depends on how often you find yourself near the front.

I'm running a Pure Prime variant for leveling and cheap cost. 2 cMPLs in each arm and 2 LRM 15s, plus AMS. Not optimal at all yet I'm doing pretty well with it. Just finished with Basics. It is basically a better Catapult because the arm mounts let me deal with lights.

My prime is based of the Prime "Maddog II" aka 4 medium pulse, 2 LRM 20's, I love it.

I love the look of the MDD, but as a heavy, it is, as been previously said, rather a support mech. Less Armor though same speed as a Timber, very Missile-Focused. I didn't score a decent match yet with that little doggie.
I can imagine PGi to Quirk this Baby to be a LURM-Storm Monster when the planned Clan-Quirks arrive to MWO, since i think to low tonnage mechs of their relative weight-classes lose much in the spectrum to high tonange mechs, and PGI will probably want to fix this (same with the Nove vs. Stormcrow). Then it will be a much more viable mech. And with the "gift-variant" MDD-C you have a nice Dual-Gauss variant (with not enough Ammo IMHO) to snipe.

Mad Dog requires a certain amount of patience to make the most of it, especially the SRMbomber builds. Use it properly, and combine it with a little luck and...

Those were both with my Mad Dog A, 4xERML/6xSRM6.

I've been having better luck with the maddog in CW. I feel it has more of a role there as you can back up the fatties with a nice combination of direct and indirect fire. In non CW matches I find it harder to get consistent good resulre with the combination of urban maps and Rambo teammates. The load outs I'm using which seem to do pretty well in CW are 2-ERLL 6-LRM5's on my MDD-a. 2-LRM15's 4ML 4SRM2

I run mine with LRM15x2 cMPLx4 (two in each arm). I call it the Proper Dogg. I need to optimize a bit, but it was cheap to build and I do well in PUGs with it. I give LRM support but when lights break into the rear they find out I've got 4 pinpoint pulse lasers in arm mounts.

Useful on every map, unlike LRM boats or Brawlers
