First welcome to all who read this even though I have no idea why anyone would ever listen to a clown. But any whoo lets see what we got here:

- The IS is eating itself. Davions eating Liao planets like a fat kid would with chocolate cake. Marik and Liao trying to stop the feeding on their dieing corpeses but that really isn't doing much except for giving a little heartburn.

- Kurita is crying foul on Davion as they try and hold back the white teddy bears and smoking kittens.

- The wolves and falcons made some sort of peace to address steiners.

- Steiners in return have sorta put a fight against the clans having been the only IS faction to slow them down. That is by no means have they stopped them.

- FRR, while everyone is busy in the IS trying to defend their own or advance through eating its neighbors. The FRR has started to deflate like a rubber dingy in 50 ft waves. The leadership has decided to open up a betting pool on when the FRR falls. This is being done so people in the FRR who bet correctly can say something good came out of it.

That's sorta it in a nut shell, right?

- Oh I forgot to mention some factions having not the greatest member count have started boosting contract amounts. Smoking Kittens and the half eaten Liao get 100% for both C-Bills and Loyalty Points. The Green Birdy is getting a 25% for C-Bills and 30% for Loyalty Points

I think PGI has failed to understand how much people are attached to their respective factions. Not to mention that the bonus rewards are not all that impressive. I think people are more likely to switch sides just to face different units for a change than to get extra LP.

Problem with the boosted contract amounts is that most people are already in a contract. If you took a 30-day contract and they changed the rewards on day 7, people are not going to first pay to break their current contract, suffer a two day lockout from CW, and then join a different faction.

I doubt most people would break a 7 day contract with the penalties and the 2 day lockout. So the boosted rewards are mostly meaningless until people are out of their contract.

When rewards are boosted on a faction (and only for some period right after they were boosted - say the first week after the change) the players should be able to *change* contracts to the new faction for the same contract length, not cancel the existing one. The boosted faction should foot the bill to buy out the existing contract and there should be no lock out. Then people might be willing to switch mid-contract.

Still Beta. I'm hoping they will revert things back when CW 1.0 is ready to roll with new rewards and everything. It would be a pity if three of the major factions were reduced to one or two worlds by mid-January. Where do they go from there? How are they going to advance the timeline to 3055 and 3060 later, when some of the factions have been hammered down to the size of a small village?

If they increase the number of matches needed to take over a planet, then planets shouldn't be flipped on a daily basis.

They also seriously need to look at how to use mercenaries as a balancing tool, increasing their rewards significantly in order to make them flock to the weakest factions. Not just double the win bonus, but give them a 50-100% increase in total income for every victory.

That was to do with mechs exploding and damaging other mechs right? How does that affect population?

Okay, make that the "Fanboy" effect. Popular novels, everyone wants to be with the 'heroes'. Since I never read the novels, I have no proclivities towards any faction save a distaste for the clans that was shared by my friends. That's why when we played, we threw the clans aways as junk. I'd rather have IS only fights anyway.

I've read dozens of the books. All they did was make me dislike certain factions and characters due to the amount of plot armor they get. The books are really just fanfics at best, full of Mary Sues/Gary Stus, and plots so predictable they make the My Little Pony cartoon plots look twisted and convoluted.

The factions I'm drawn to are the "space villain" factions like Jade Falcon and Smoke Jaguar (clan invasion), Steiner (FedCom Civil War), and Marik (Jihad).

The novels made me love Clan Wolf and guess what I am loving Clan Wolf in the game. Can not see my self working for Liao.

I think they should take the base number of planets a particular faction has then divide current holdings by that base number to get a "Battle Modifier". That modifier is applied to the number of battles needed to capture or defend a planet.

A faction that's doubled in size needs to work twice as hard to defend a planet (double the number of wins). Conversely a faction that's down to 1/10 their original size can cap a planet can't be pushed out with less than a full route (15/15 losses).

After all, gaining territory means your forces are spread thinner & a loss of territory means your force is much more concentrated.

This is a good idea, I like it. I feel they badly need some kind of overextended effect, and contraction effect for suffering factions.Clans should have special rules based of eventual historical sizes so they have a chance to grow pre bloat.

The Stackpole Effect was when mechs died, he made them explode and damage other mechs around them (like in MW4, if you ever played that) which is not how nuclear reactors are known to behave, so he just ignored science and did it that way because it was cool. Or something like that.
