Think I'm going D....just need another 2 million bills to get it. the XL engine alone is a good enough reason and I like the LBX10

A solid choice - if for no other reason than you get a discount on that XL. B)

I run all but YLW right now, D is the fastest and a great chaser.

With a maxed out cool down module, the CN9-D's LB10X fires shockingly fast. Even just using the stock 300XL it's pretty fast for its size, and can fit 2xML and 2xSRM4. Not a bad choice at all, and can be fun as a high speed sandblaster.

The AL is a solid medium energy boat, but it generally does not compete well with the Wolverine 6K and 7K, nor the Griffins.

The A is versatile, but does not compete well with the Wolverine 6R.

The big saving grace of the A and AL is the ability to be reasonably viable with 250 standard engines and that tanky shield arm.

so far, the others I'm not super happy with but I always use weird loads and trying to learn to gauss better.

my YLW is 340XL Guass + LPL (or 2 MPL)
my AH is 275XL LBX10+3xSRM4 (Want to figure out LBX10+2MGs+SRMs

I use 3 SRM2s on the AH, chain fired when the third shoots, the first is ready.

No, it's not. I think you meant 300XL.

The durability of Centurions over that of the Wolverines is still their best asset.

The CN9-A has been one of my favorites since Beta. It still works as a durable SRM boat.

But why just 3 Centurions? get 5! Gotta catch'em all ;-)

I have an AL but comparing it to my AH is... well the AH I can do consistently well in, minimum of ~300 dmg a game and not uncommon to get 600-700, but it's hard to get over 100 with my AL at the moment. Maybe it's partly due to it not being fully upgraded and only having a standard 210 engine, but Large lasers just aren't cutting it for me. I've got 3 large lasers and 2 SRM4's and I miss the punch my ac20 3srm4 AH has.

I'm wondering whether to just forget about the LL quirks and put 2 PPCs in the arm currently.

what do folks do on the AH? I was thinking to going to this.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...c24c9232a8ebc4b

does going triple LRM5 make sense at all or ever SSRMs? (I assume SSRMs are a no go as they pretty much suck)

I run something similar, though with less ammo and more armor. Also, unless you have one lying around to use, don't go for the 250XL, the 255XL is the same tonnage for slightly better performance.

I use the same weapons, although dropping down to an XL 245 and getting rid of a ton of SRM ammo allows you to have 28 AC20 rounds and mostly full armor, which I find more useful. Yeah you'll occasionally run out of ammo but that's generally only after you've done obscene amounts of damage and the game's either won thanks to it, or lost regardless of it.

After some experimenting I've found that the only wortwhile centurion builds that don't use an AC20 generally need SRMs. My A variant has 3 SRM6's with artemix and 2mpl for backup and the AL will probably have 2 SRM6's with artemis and 2xLL when it's done upgrading. Cents work best for me with a big punch and neither an AC10 or 2-3xLL works for me, even with the quirks.

i swapped out the LBX10 in my D for AC10 and it performance much better.

and yea on ERLL/LL....they just over all suck for the most part unless you facing other IS mechs. I run a 4xERLL C dragon as a defense mech in CW. they are just so out performed by CERLLs and ERPPCs
