I propose something a lot more fun! In the spirit of this vast and wonderful universe that is Battletech (Mechwarrior). When the game is at the end, when pilots are left alone (or in small numbers 2-3) respect them if they call for a single combat (or duels)! Everyone who is left in the battlefield (attacker and defenders) should respect that challenge, gather in an open neutral area and fight it off 1 versus 1 until all attacker or defenders are dead.
I have tried it many times now, in the spirit of the game that I loved for the past 25 years, I have called the clans for a duel (or circle of equals). All I've got in response was contempt and bad comments for the other team... Not surprising but it was nonetheless very sad.
I feel the game and the universe would benefit when players accept duels and all who are in the drop respect these challenges. Such an event between two mechjock, one against the other where all participants would cease firing and watch the combat would be fun to participate and fun to watch. That could even make for GREAT videos pics and create lore’s that would reverberate across the net!
So next time you see me on the battlefield my call sign is Parkensis, but you can call me Park. If you can beat me in single combat as described here I will resign my commission from my current employer and become a bondsman. But only if that duel is respected and fair.
