In my times fighting for the Bear, slogging through the barbaric, primitive backwaters ruined by House greed, I finally realized the reason for our fighting. The very essence of our combat. The catalyst of interstellar violence, reduced to it's base components.

We murder each other over the two most perceived valuable resources in the galaxy.

Space bacon

and

Space beer

Many times I have heard pilots charging into battle over these resources, or lamenting their loss as they lay dying on the field.

Why these two things have caused centuries worth of destruction remains a mystery to me, and I'd like a little insight. Why not Space Cake, or Space Pie? If someone wins all the bacon, but has no beer, is it truly a complete victory? Given the choice of only beer or only bacon, which is best? Finally, isn't there enough bacon and beer for everyone?
