So, here's a thought exercise -

Which Mechs are most piloted by people who get stuck on Bad Teams? I seem to observe that the MatchMaker puts Thunderbolt 9S pilots and Timberwolf pilots on Fail Teams more than pilots of other Mechs. Just tonight I say 3 different TDR-9S pilots getting stuck on "terribad teams" even though they, themselves, didn't play well (must have been the team's fault, though).

Anyone else notice this? Is it some matchmaker conspiracy?!?!?...

(or... do "some" players merely have higher standards of play/lower standards of grace?)

The TDR-9S is a heavy Mech. Heavy is the third "lightest" Mech class. Divide the 9 in the 9S by 3, you get 3. To confirm that we have the right answer, there are three letters in the TDR Thunderbolt naming thing.
There are 3 sides in the illuminati triangle. But wait! we are left with the S. The S is the only digit that was not part of the equation. There is only one number in TDR-9S. There is only one eye in the illuminati triangle
3 sides + 1 eye
Battlefield: Bad Company 3 confirmed
Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

Isn't this a glass half empty kind of question? If there are simply more Thunderbolts on the battlefield than other mechs, wouldn't that mean this mech would be part of (both) more terribad and terrigood teams?

How are we defining terribad teams teams anyway? Is it any team that gets rolled, or does it require a Thunderbolt pilot on the losing team to whine about it? Serious questions abound!

Really though I think it must be aliens behind the conspiracy.

Doesn't matchmaker throw a couple excellent, high elo people into the mix to balance out the "fail team"? That would explain it if we assume that their elo is currently very high as a result of using tdr-9s or tbw cheese builds.

Such is the joy of using "averages" instead of medians or some other measure of center that isn't as vulnerable to outliers.

like any other new "meta", the TDR draws the "ohsoserious" gamers, and the terribad wannabecomps that think by running the Meta, it makes them good. Despite this, they invariably end up on "bad" teams, and have to blame their bad teammates for making them have a bad game.
