What's even more ironic is a Fedrat can't tell a Kurita-made Omni from Capellan engineering. Other than "HURR, SUPERIOR ENEMY ROBOTS, I MUST STEAL MORE."

See, silly Liao. Just because it looks like it has parts from a mech doesn't make it the real thing. Liao mechs are obvious by the high-quality cardboard construction and being clearly taped together from assembled parts. Like the Cataphract.

Someone's been claiming way too many kills from shooting up the base target range. Also, it was so bad, you decided to make your own copyright infringement and call it the Caesar. It's OK. We rebuilt it better in less than a year as the Cataphract-3L. Maybe you can try stealing our work again later.

Have you seen the Caesar? That thing looks like a pimped out alien with a 9mm. You can get special wide-brimmed hat with a rooster feather in it as a sign of rank.

The Cataphract is a freakish amalgam of 2nd line mechs. The Caesar was Davion making a giant robotic pimp with a gat.... just because they could.

The first picture of a Cataphract was literally an artist trying to describe a Capellan design to those of limited intellect, mocking it as a "Frankenmech":



The actual Cataphract prototype was nothing of the sort and featured technology unheard of in Federated Suns space until the Helm core.




It was also the last thing the Kestrel Grenadiers saw before being obliterated. Nothing inflames Davion greed like seeing success and prosperity, which is why the Confederation pays top C-bill rates to scorch their pestilent infestations off planets.

Incidentally, we've had loyal citizens introducing quality control issues in that assembly line on Tikonov. That'd be the quiet reason the Caesar is produced- reverse-engineered Capellan quality stamped out by Davions who couldn't get the original makers to kowtow to a jumped-up bandit lord.

Hey, Capellan engineering deserves its props. When all you have is 20 starving farmers and a vodka soaked dropout from an engineering class build a mech out of spare parts and wicker it are happy with whatever you get.

I also understand how you can be proud of that one time you won, generally Davion swings by and conquers 20% of your worlds on a drunken post wedding party blowout. They didn't even have to use weapons; most capellan worlds rolled over for food and 12 months of free HBO.

Going to not take this awesome thread further afield. Tell me more of how I can make fat bank like the big playas!
