I want the MW2 computer, myself. The pauses in her statements were just so perfectly 'artificial'.

I think "Critical hit: Heat sink", was my favorite thing to hear (game-play aside, since that usually would mean I was getting my butt kicked).

"Critical hit. Weapon. Destroyed."

She was so... DISAPPOINTED with me. It was fantastic.

Gotta go with MW2.

She's sexy and cold at the same time. (like many women)

There is no better voice for a computer system than the Half-life HEV gal. =D

I have to agree it was the MW2 computer voice that I liked. You know in the article released today Russ said that thermal imaging was something that was never done before in a mechwarrior game. Didn't mechwarrior 2:mercs have it? I know it had some sort of other imaging or was I imaginging that?

It was acually a wireframe image that was basically a damage sensor wireframe you got damage reports indicated in the color outline of the wireframe.

It was perfect in two ways.
1. it was much easier for a system to render a wireframe than a 3d graphic so it ran much faster thus helping the programmers get away with it in less robust systems.
2. It presented a damage readout there by giving a tactical advantage that made players perfer it to the standard view and thereby reinforced the gains from one.
Extra Credit point. People got more immersed because it was diffrent albiet a throback to battlezone but hey when you are looking at pretty pictures and all the sudden your presented with a pretty graphical damage assestment and easier targeting from long range it breeds immersion.

oh yeah and to stay on topic MW2 was my favorite

I don't want a female voice saying "enemy detected" ten times in a row.

I don't think anybody wants any kind of "enemy detected" notification 10 times in a row.

While i like the original Mechwarrior female computer voices as an optional choice it would be nice to have something a little different in style.
For example this one sounds quite awesome:

Then why does it exist in the game?
