Most of the clan mechs seem impervious to being headshot, except via artillery.
Congrats though.

I've actually had a 9S one shot my maxed armour Timby head...while moving.
Darn 17% one shot capability of MWO's crit system. % might actually be lower for 3 PPCs, but it's 17% for 2 Gauss rifles to headcap. I don't feel like maths tonight.

But when you've got triple gauss Dire Wolves camping on Boreal Vault, and instant convergence for 16 weapons on the same mech, maybe it's the lesser of all evils right now.

I think many headshots are by accident as well.
Some are aiming high alphas at the head of a mech and hoping it registers.
Some are diwn to who gets to the DC first lol.

You can account for this in several ways, the curvature of the cockpit sends shots bouncing into the sturdier torso armor, only a direct shot wouldn't be diverted and would actually damage the cockpit, stuff like that.
Even knowing that the Atlas cockpit is the left eye doesn't mean I will be able to hit it when everyone is moving around. I'll try on my laser vomit Gargoyle tomorrow to see if I can get more headshots.

Since then i had a few more times during brawls that my first shot hit the head instead of the CT but i couldn't repeat that stunt.

Personally, I think the Timber Wolf could survive a slightly bigger cockpit.

In CB/OB Cats were a target for Headshots and it seems if you Dual-Gauss/AC20 you should allways aim for the Head Region...
I dont want more Headshots!
