The DC will also have ECM pretty soon.

I rank the Atlases in this order:
Tied 1st) Founder's D (standard loadout + 25% c-bill booster)
Tied 1st) D-DC (loses two energy hardpoints, gains a missile hardpoint, ecm, and an extra module slot)
2nd) D (standard loadout)
3rd) RS (loses a ballistic hardpoint, but all its energy hardpoints are in its arms)
4th) K (loses a ballistic and missile hardpoint, gains an ams hardpoint)

the dual ams on the K was helpful in organized groups, and the loss of the balistics really did not matter on many builds. however now that the DC is getting ecm, I really do not see a reason to even consider the K.

I was really considering the K for the dual AMS setup, but... ultimately I'm not sure how effective it will be, anyway. I was thinking about a gauss/LRM20 setup for the early portion of matches, and then transitioning to gauss/medium lasers as combat gets closer.
Now, though, with ECM coming out soon I might instead go for the DC.
It's my first Atlas, either way, so I'm sure no matter what I pick I'll be learning stuff the hard way.

I have the D and RS and I'm saving up for a D-DC for unlocking elite+master. After doing that I want to sell one of the mechs to free up more room for different mechs. I'm keeping the D as it's most useful of all the builds, but which should I keep, the RS or the D-DC?

I would at least keep the D-DC until you decide if ECM is important to you. Consider that at this time, only 4 mechs in the game will be able to mount that, and you'll be sitting on one that you're intentionally taking at least through elite piloting skills.
That said, by the time you get that far, you will have piloted all three of your chosen Atlas variants a long time, and will have a better idea of which one you enjoy the least. And at that point it will be YOUR opinion, not some guy on the forums!
So the real answer should be, wait and see! Cheers.

What other mechs do you have now?
I barely have any. I love BT and MW but as a mere college freshman. I dont have any cash to spend for MC for Mechbays. I usually just get them thru CW or events. I have 12 mechbays.

Either make a fresh account and start over or just lumber along as long as it takes to get enough money to buy the other variants.
I would suggest making a fresh account.
