This game desperately needs more social tools in game. Mailboxes, a MercNet bulletin board, and more ready access to faction chat would all help to form the kind of teams needed for Faction play.

There's nothing channeling new players to the teams when they click Faction Play. There ought to be an intermediate social panel, before they launch on a planet to get clubbed.
