We had a situation last night where we had 7 minutes to prepare for an attack. The drop commander laid out what he wanted for all 4 phases. When we got into the match half of the team was in the wrong kind of mechs and when they were called out on it they said they just play to have fun and not take orders.

We were fighting a 12 man on Boreal as the attacker. Guess who won.

I dont nesiceraly agree that you have to play in cookie cutter builds but there are certain themes you should be prepared to match. jumping lights. Heavies. ECM. There is alot of wiggle room when you are told to bring something like that. Hell in my drops I would rather you take a trial to match the theme than just whing it and bring whatever all the while saying to hell with the guy "barking orders".
