SO, I was solo dropping into CW last night, and a couple times I was placed as filler on a team with an 8 to 10 man group from [CI] and I have to say...
It was thoroughly enjoyable. After the second drop, they recognized me and invited me into their TS server and that made the drop even better. They were all nice, no trash talking, and very helpful.
So I want to say, thanks for the fun times last night [CI] (not sure if I should mention any specific names, as I cannnot remember all of them anyway). I look forward to dropping with you (or against you ) again soon.

'tis true,
When I drop solo, I very much hope to land as filler for a larger team.
Win or lose, the battles are generally much better this way.

There's nothing like seeing that "Pilot Receiving Orders" turn into a bunch of guys with the same unit tag.
That's the point when you realize that although you may not be included in their plans, at least they have one. Follow the herd, do your job, help where you can...and the results are so much more satisfying than pulling off a win against a derp team in the solo queue.
Flip side to that is seeing a team where noone has a unit, half your team is in trial mechs and your group is full of Badders and Dire Whales. You just know this is going to be one of those "afraid to shoot strangers" teams and the best you can do is try to recoup any expendables you might have used.

even better when that group with the same tag invites you into their TS so you become part of the plan, instead of just following it

yeah, I find most big groups are very friendly. Had a nice match today with the 9th (9-man...hmmmm). That light clan rush was the LAST thing the enemy 8-man expected.........

I dropped CW solo yesterday. An 8 man on my team, so I'm like ok cool, some organised people. I was so very wrong.
mfw on the very next round the same tag pops up on my screen.
