So I had been away from MWO for a long time (15+ patches) until this week.

So tonight I drop into a CW match pretty quick, but I only added my Jenner to the dropship (didn't realize I should change out the trial mechs too). Got owned in trial mechs. Whatever. No big deal.

So later on I decide to try it again. I get a popup on the main screen saying "planet X needs defending!" or whatever. So I click it, load up decent mechs (230/240 tons) and... ... ... 5-10 minutes pass in queue.

Maybe I did something wrong? So I cancel out. Queue up again and... ... ... 10 more minutes of waiting. I've now been sitting in queue for over 30 minutes. If the UI is bringing CW to my attention and giving me a call-to-action, then why is it taking so god damn long to find a match?

One thing I had always liked about MWO is that I could log in, queue up, play a match, and log out in 15-20 minutes. If Community Warfare is going to take close to an hour to queue up every time, then this new system is almost as bad of a decision as the UX nightmare that is the new interface.

If you wanna play CW, you have to expect long queue times.

If you want shorter waiting times, you can still play normal queue.

Screw it. I've listened to two full albums, read all social media feeds for the past week, and I'm 30 pages deep in Reddit.

I'm done.

Go only to planets with uneven numbers that not exceed 47 for your side.

12, 24....60+ is bad

CW is definitely group focused, solo drops will unfortunately have these issues.

not only that but if the queue is small, players focused on the specific planet will have matches that are at the longest 30 minutes long, thusly making the search longer.

Teams are formed on 12-24-36-48-60-...

ignore the notifications, just choose planets with a queue number close to these 12x like 10 11 or 46 47
Numbers above 12x means very long wait... like 13 14 or 49 50.

if all 12 slots are filled with "pilot receiving orders" and you still are not getting a match, its because all 15 zones for that planet are currently occupied. You should wait for one of the matches to end.

If a 12 member team gets created for a match inside a zone and the timer starts from 10:00, then the match maker is searching for an opponent for you.
if 10 minutes run out, you will get a match against turrets.

if the timer is counting down from 00:59... then gl&hf

Hop on the Marik TS. We have several staging area channels for every front and dro as groups that way. You should be able to get uick matches in that way plus have the benefit of voice coordiantion.

http://housemarik.enjin.com/ has all teh information you need to get hooked up.

I spent more than an hour and a half trying to sync-drop with Kurita groups last night unsuccessfully. There NEEDS to be a better way to queue with people of your faction. Because I was not a part of the larger groups, I was constantly still sat in the queue even when they found a game and eventually gave up, having played one 10-minute losing stomp in the entire hour and a half I was "playing". Not exactly fun.

The ability to group within your own faction is coming soon. They were working on it before the holiday break but couldnt get it in in time. I imagine we will probably see it this month.

If you're looking for an instant game, you want to see 60+ attackers and less than 60 defenders. You're pretty much guaranteed an instant drop.
