[Scorcher]

This has got to by favorite weapon by far. It's great at killing mechs big and small, capable of taking mechs from full armor down to none. A weapon without equal. I even threw together a little video in homage of the AC/20.

Here's hoping that it never changes from being the best

I saw Stormcrows running from me when I was piloting my Yen Lo Wang last night. It cuts through clanners like butter as long as that arm and ammo lasts.

Only down side to ac20 is when hitreg doesnt work. Lots of times I have hit a light 4-5 times and it never takes dmg. By the 4th shot your leg is gone and he is taking the 2nd. Then you have the times it works fine. .. ac5 are a little more forgiving when it comes to hitreg.

How common are hit-reg issues for other low-ping players? My ping is, on average, 25, and these kind of issues rarely affect me.

Noticed that odd behavior myself, and not only against lights. Sometimes it works just fine, and then the very next match is with serious hitreg issues.

ran into that a few times. me and a buddy were running our 4Gs together. Unloaded over 24 ac20 shells, all "registered", into the torso (not arms, head, etc) of a Mad Dog. Didn't kill it. Took another minute of me with just lasers (I was out of ammo) to kill the guy, and he still killed the other 4G. And we were both virgin fresh at the beginning of the fight.

Very next drop, we had a similar encounter with a Mist Lynx....

Yet other times, no issues at all. SMH.

I love this thing; my Hunchback 4G is probably my favourite IS mech, especially after it got its quirks.

Oh, how I wish I could trade my Clan Ultra Autocannon 20's for these IS antiques...

As for me, I am counting the days until Zeus time...the magical time during which I probably will not do any CW drops for quite some time, unless I can bring IS mechs at that point.

And then there is the thought that we might get a Zeus with an actuator setup in the left arm that could support an AC/20...

I got into a 1v1 with a LL / ML stormcrow in my baby Atlas protector.

Hit him 11 of 13 shots (plus MLas and double A-SRM 6-packs.) He still killed me. And all my shots were torso / arm, for the most part. I think I got an arm off him right before I died.

May very well be the pilot, here, but the AC/20 vs. the Stormcrow doesn't seem the one-sided fight it might appear to be

After running my clan mechs for a while, switching back to an Ilya Chainsaw, my dual ac10 K2, or my Cataphract with an ac20 just like it has so much more impact. Clan ac's are good for rattling someone's screen back into cover, but FLD certainly has the better killing feel.

I think it has a lot to do with server loads. I can tell when the server or my connection is hwving issues when I use the 4x zoom and there is a little lag flipping on/off.. Other than the server I seen problems when mechs are jumping when thry get up right next to your mech or when they are not on the same plain.

I'm low ping and I occasionally get some hitreg issues with it too. I'll be in a point blank fight with a Stormcrow, nail it on the nose, and see the armour turn from undamaged to light yellow. Much rage.

But most of the time, it works the way it's supposed to, and even TimberGods will fall before the mighty Hunchback!
