Simple rules.
1. Your Alpha potential is the number of points you start with.
2. Any armor on the mech means you lose.
3. If you damage your core from overheating when you alpha, you lose. (If you test it in game, use Canyon Network.)
4. Everything else is permitted, Modules, Missiles, Energy, Ballistics, OP mechs, Underpowered mechs, IS, Clan, max skills, no skills, Endo and/or FF.
This is split into each weight class. So you can post builds for a light, a medium, a heavy, and an Assault if you want.
You can earn bonus points for running the mech in PUG.
20 points for getting a kill
10 points for getting an assist
-50 points for dying
-100 for Team killing.

Also that website has the ghost heat penalties. You can use the weapon lab to see your heat capacity and see how your mech and build will function when skilled up.
