Why is the launcher downloading my install base? I just played 8 hours ago and I have been playing since closed beta. If I try to stop the download I risk corrupting the game files. Any suggestions?

Mine just did the same thing. I REALLY hope that I don't lose my settings. :(

I had that the other day. Twice. Ran the repair tool it did it again. I reinstalled game and yes, lost settings including weapons groups.

The patcher killed it for me, too. I copied my profile folder and user.cfg file before I uninstalled. Please tell me that everything is saved in there.

I did but it is Saturday. Not expecting a fast reply. I guess I let it reinstall and redo all settings.

More discussion in this thread.

No fix yet, but it's looking like an uninstall/reinstall is in your future

No matter what I do, fresh install, patch or fix files the client keeps downloading or fixing files over and over.
Can't even play. Still so glad I have not dropped a dime on this game since Founder. PGI still can't get their sh1t together after 3 years.

Things happen. This is a massively complicated program, and free at that. Little setbacks like this aren't really a big deal, just a slight inconvenience.

You'll likely need to uninstall and reinstall.

I ran my repair tool and made sure all options were clicked before i ran the tool and that seems to have fixed it. for now.

I had to run the 32 bit repair tool manually and disable a few file replacement options.

I'm having the same issue. No solutions have worked yet. Currently trying delete/replace mwoupdate and letting it patch. Will try uninstall/reinstall next, I guess. G/l all.

make sure that you aren't auto patching. If it keeps telling you to patch, don't do it. Close the launcher and restart.

Just a followup, I un/reinstalled and that got it working for a bit. I woke up this morning and got the same launcher wanting to patch. I tried closing and restarting and that didn't help, so I'm un/reinstalling again. I also sent copies of my patcher logs to support, but got the holiday weekend auto-response.

I sent Russ something on Twitter, but I haven't received a reply. Maybe if you keep trying to restart it will help.

Downloading this game over and over can't be the only solution
