So the dropships only count the TOTAL weight each mech I bring COULD have? I just spent a bunch of cbills setting up 1 light, 1 medium, 1 heavy, and 1 assault to be exactly 240 tons yet the dropship is saying they are 250 which is the weight without my balancing act.

Very sad, and now I can't afford to change my mechs back.

If a mech is listed as a 100 tonner, it's counted as 100 tons.

So yeah.

Yeah but if we're talking realism if my mech only weighs 89 tons it should only count as 89 tons.

You tried to get around the system, got caught, and now it is the games fault? Typical.

Did you not think to ask someone, read up on "DropShip Mode" about how it "worked" before committing all those funds? NO!... bummer. Lesson learned.

That’s the way you would think it would work but sadly no

The question came up a few times is it weight class or actual weight

It would make things to complicated (I guess)

As a Clanner you should bring either 3 Stormcrows plus a Timberwolf, or 3 Hellbringers and a Kit Fox. Or something like that. I hear it's all the rage in Clanspace. :)

Can you bring 3 of the same trial mech though?

Original poster could use a trial mech of appropriate weight to go with three of the customized mechs and not have wasted ALL his or her money.

It's not an error. The universe we are playing in must have rules, and this is one of them. You cannot save tonnage in your drop deck by running lighter than your 'Mechs were designed to be.

An Atlas will always be counted as a 100-tonner even if you drop it underweight.

OP could have tried dropping with one mech underweight to see if it worked before customizing 4 mechs : /

Ok, that sounds like something that is true to the TT rules, if you take a 100 ton chassis for TT play you must use the 100 tons, no undercutting the tonnage allowed, just like there is no going over the listed tonnage of a chassis (thus why fully custom builds were more favorable than variant builds when designing a 'mech to match exactly what you wanted in some circles.) I will say this here and now, I agree with PGI in having the Chassis Tonnage determine the weight limit for drops. Just means we are not going to be seeing top weight drop decks yet, sadly it also means we wont be seeing weight class drop decks either (I would love to see someone from IS be able to drop with 4 Atlas' and Clans drop with 4 Dire Wolf's)

Drop Ship weight is too low, needs to be upped to 280 tons
