As the current system now stands in regards to experience, specific mech experience earned while piloting a mech has only 2 uses, unlocking the mech skill tree and conversion to GXP. This of course drops down to the sole use of converting it to GXP once you have mastered a mech. My suggestion is that once a mech is mastered, it unlocks the ability to convert excess experience into C-bills (the option to convert to GXP with MC would of course remain the same).

I suggest this both as an option to slightly lower the grind in earning currency to buy new mechs and modules, and as a use for stockpiling experience that I never use once a mech is mastered. As an example, my JM6-S Jager has over 130,000 experience, and since I never convert any experience to GXP, just continues to accumulate. Instead, why not allow players a chance to earn a 'bonus' from their earned experience in C-bills. Even if we were allowed to convert at a 1 to 1 ratio, my Jager for example would only net me about 1 extra match worth of C-bills, so it would not be crazy sums of money, just a little bit extra to help mitigate cost for modules, DHS, XL engines, etc...

Yes the extra amount of money would be fairly small per match, but any extra gain would be helpful and appreciated.
