For a short period, you could use Mechlab while your dead mech was locked in match and updated while the rest of your team was being slaughtered once again for playing skirmish in conquest or whatever. When you're trying to work out flaws with the mech, this is absolutely neccessary useful time that is currently wasted when the mech is locked out of the mech lab. If you noticed something wrong with your build, by the time it's available again, you have an update, instantly fixed and you can drop again in seconds, not minutes.

So PGI, bring it back. It was marvelous to have.
