Ideas For Increasing Cw Involvement

While not a perfect solution, I believe that first and foremost certain zones on the attack/defend planets should only be open at certain times... ie some for Euro and Asian players and some for NA players. I feel the pain of the Euro players as my unit plays late for an NA group, usually just after ceasefire. This would allow NA players to work with and build upon what our EU and A-P players accomplish. I know this is similar to what PGI originally suggested and perhaps they had these issues in mind long before the rest of us. Doesn't it make sense, however, to allow EU and A-P players to have unique, specific goals for CW? CW should exist such that all 3 player bases should have equal importance and contributions.

Drop deck diversity is also lacking in CW. On the clan side I believe quirks will help this greatly. I'd love to see myst lynxes and Novas in CW, but unfortunately you only ever really see TBR's, SCR's and the occasional Hellbringer. The IS side has more diversity due to the sheer amount of mechs they have and also the quirks. The ERPPC TDR is a bit too prevalent and could possibly be scaled back lightly, but I know it has a very important role that perhaps no other mech can fulfill.

I really like the idea of implementing skirmish, and maybe even conquest into CW. Perhaps we could also see a 48 mech attrition (deathmatch) mode as well, just for the sake of variety?

These are really just me spitballing, but I'm curious to see what others thing on these basic principles.

CW will get greater numbers participating when PGI adds to it with additional game modes and maps and rewards to winning and owning planets.

The challenge will be can PGI get those things online before the player base burns itself out on the current 1 mode, 2 map configuration.
