Gonna try this out.

All entries *must* be posted to the official contest thread at reddit.com/r/houseliao. I have control there and will make it easier to sort entries and control conversation.

Pro-Liao/Anti-Davion Propaganda Contest!

Entries can be video, still image, whatever. All top tier comments must be links to entries. Discussion revolving around each entry is allowed as subcomments.

Prizes!

• 1st Place: Resistance Fire Pack or $20 Urbie Pack! (or 37 days Premium Time)
  
• 2nd Place: 30 Days Premium Time
  
• 3rd Place: 7 Days Premium Time

Rules!

• Can be pro-Liao or pro-Liao and anti-Davion, but not just anti-Davion all by itself. If you want to make a piece that is Pro-Liao from the prospective of another house then that's OK!
  
• No stealing content.
  
• Deadline: Jan 29th Midnight MST
  
• Because this is the Internet I feel compelled to add that no entries with racist/sexist/homophobic overtones or slurs will be accepted or considered.
  
• Winners will be decided by a two member panel of the Pleiades Mobile Patriots (Maxwell Albritten and Catbert) while strongly considering public feedback/comments to entries.

Well, this should be interesting.

Additional rules questions: Can a person submit more than one entry? Are any media types allowed/disallowed/preferred?

No entry limit, but only one prize per person! I can't think of any media types not allowed. You can even bust out your best raps with dope beats!

Yea, please submit on the reddit thread. Maybe pick one or two of the best pieces? Or maybe actually do an .mp3 of one as a dramatic reading/radio report.

I have send my entry. However, my nick was in reddit already, so I had to use 1 in it. Hope unit propaganda will go too, because it is pro-Liao or pro-Liao and anti-Davion.

Hey Ten, what did you use to make it? My only suggestion is to make the Liao emblem look painted like the figure is, you know what I mean? Because the dude is painted but the logo is very clean lines. In Photoshop, you can peruse the filter gallery and find some cool stuff.

Also, IMO, if you made the green of his clothing the same green as the border and emblem and make the text the same muted green as the rays of color in the background. Photoshop has a "Replace Color" function where you can select his vest and then select the color to replace with.

Lastly, if you could make the dude bigger I think it'd be better. I'm not sure how feasible that is due to the original art vs the scale of his arm to the arm in the emblem...but just a thought.

thanks for the suggestions i'll try the filter thing to see how it looks. I'm hesitant to make the guy bigger if it means the emblem will go off the top tho

Yea, I wasn't sure how much you could do. The emblem is simple enough that you could probably trace it in Illustrator so that it becomes a vector and not a pixel graphic. Then you could scale it how you see fit without losing quality.

EDIT: Another option is to make "Join The Liao Battle Regiment Today" smaller and bring the bottom of the poster up. Then it sort of makes the figure look larger without actually messing with his size.

I had updated my other posts to include first place being able to choose the $20 urbie pack, but forgot this one. It will be updated.
