I hate choosing defend only to get counter attack since I run a different drop deck for defend and assault.
But instead of counter attacking a fully operational base that was just taken in an attack(which makes no sense), why not turn counter attack into a skirmesh in the middle of a destroyed base?
You use the same maps, but all the gates, turrets and gens are destroyed. The sole mission is to kill all the enemy.
This should be extremly easy for PGI to do and it creates a true third mode in CW.

A game mode without objectives will completely be dominated by the team who can focus fire better.

I see this as what a true counter attack would be. Plus it would be a change from the current two modes which are basically the same. And there is an objective..Kill the enemy and evict them from your base.
