Not sure if this has been reported before, didn't see anything about it though. I've noticed in CW, mainly Boreal, but also Sulfurous, that UAVs can be shot down from ranges that should be impossible with lasers. On Sulfurous I have shot down a UAV with C-ER Small Lasers at 600m, on Boreal, using the same weapon, have done it from an amazing 1200m. I haven't tested this on the normal ques, but I imagine it works there too.

Anybody else noticed this?

I've killed UAV's with PPCs at extreme ranges... C-ER SL at 1200m. I'd call that an epic shot... if those weapons actually reached a target that far lol

The weapons do reach that far. They deal zero damage though. Not sure why the UAV registers damage at those ranges.

I have no idea how long this has been going on, since I never thought to shoot at an out of range target. I did shoot one down earlier today with small lasers at 600 meters by accident after I'd changed my weapon groupings.

UAVs can be killed on sight at any range at least with energy weapons - it is that way since pretty much ever...

Only reason I figured it out is I saw a UAV that my teammates were ignoring, so fired a few burst to draw attention to it since I was out of range, then was shocked to see it die and me get XP for killing it

Well i am not sure UAVs are made with endosteel or stuff like that also lasers mays have small range for damage armored things but with unarmored things maybe lasers range is maybe x20 or x100.
