Would having an attack and a defense drop deck to quicky choose from be a good idea for the star map?

It would be nice but I don't see it happening any time soon.

Very much so, I'd love it it they added this in soon. I don't recall that it came up in the last town hall though....

For realism the dropship should be loaded at the mech hangar but until that sort of thing is added if ever, the option to choose an attack or defense drop deck on the planet screen would be great.

I set up 8 mechs expecting to be able to have an attack deck and a defend deck. My thought was I would select the correct deck for the correct mode. However PGI screwed that plan with their counterattack mode. Now since you dont really know what mode you are getting I just try to take my 4 best.

Wouldn't be an issue if your position of attack/defend was clear from the beginning. Just a matter of swapping mechs on the deck. Now, if only we could figure out what we're doing BEFORE we drop....

Agreed. Having it setup so that we can have at least 2 pre-set decks, and fixing the "reset" bug; would be awesome. Or make it two minutes to drop instead of minute.
Give people enough time to switch mechs if they are alert and ready to go.
I get by with the fact that I only, for now, have to switch just one mech out for attack or defense.

Usually at the one minute mark for the defenders. Up to 11 minutes for the attackers if they have been waiting awhile.
Figure a 2 minute "Scramble" window would work better.

I am not a big(relatively speaking) spender on this game, but even I have over 16 mastered mechs with modules. I have sixty seconds to pick my mechs. That has always been plenty of time. I have a drop deck for cheese(zerg), attack on hot, attack on cold, defense on hot, defense on cold.
The feature you suggest might become very useful when they implement new maps, but right now isn't needed. Necro this post in April or May.
I don't think its a bad idea, just a touch premature.

Seeing as we are about 2 weeks from both a new map and a new GAME mode for counter attack (Mobile Base assault) it would be good to get it early.
So we are going to have to have decks for Invasion Attack, Invasion Defense, Counter-Attack Attack, Counter Attack Defense. Which generally for me is not hard in 1 minute as at most I have to switch one or two mechs due to building decks that are generalist in the main with a mission spec mech.
Which comes to 12 different drops due to 3 different maps. One hot, one cold, one neutral.
