I am all fun for roleplaying and doing a private match zellbringing. I already do that regularly. But it won't happen in public matches.

I beg to differ good sir.

Would you accept?
Would you cease fire - when some one else is challenged?
Or would you hide your fear behind the words - Its a war game?

How to "invoke" it fast?

In. A. Heartbeat!

How to do it fast... would take me overriding comms cause typing? I'd be dead before I was 1/4 done typing the message.

I've seen Zellbrigen requested twice in pub matches when the enemy was obviously beaten, only once was it respected by the the team i was on. Shame really because the duels can be fun to watch.

I've seen it happen many times, but only in CW. Usually better to do when there's mostly premades, because a lot of puggers will happily ignore Zellbrigen just to squeeze in an extra 15 points of damage before getting smashed.

I would understand it if IS players broke Zellbrigen for RP purposes, if it was an even fight and the Clanners were trying to win by observing Zellbrigen from start to finish. That would make sense in context of lore. But when a CW match is over and one team only has 2-3 mechs left, interfering with someone else's duel under the pretense of RP is a bit childish, IMO. For me, it's like people who only RP to insult their opponents.

I also beg to differ, here is my mine with the Derp squad and Mickey Knoxx, soon to be a rematch.

Every challenge for a duel should end with contact information for setting up the match later on a private server.

I'd do it, assuming the enemy seemed reasonably trustworthy and it wasn't just a way to lose the match.

I think it saw it once offered in a Public match, but not accepted.

Of course, since general chat is off by default these days, most folks won't get the challenge anyway, which is too bad. Adding a sprinkle of roleplaying to the game would be a nice touch.

Would you accept? HELL YES
Would you cease fire - when some one else is challenged? Absolutely
Or would you hide your fear behind the words - Its a war game? Nice way to force a desired response. ;) How about this? If the planet I am defending is "my home" How would you expect me to fight? Do you know the character Kaz the Minotaur? I like his idea of Honor.

How to "invoke" it fast?COMMS!
