Which Victor To Get, 9B Or 9K?

I already have the 9S and the DS.
I have looked at the 9K and the 9B and can't see a big difference between the two.
Which of the 2 chassis should I get?
Thank you for your help.

The 9B is similar to the 9S in that it can hold an ac/20 in it's arm.
The 9K cannot. Consequently, many perceive the 9K to be weaker.
So do you want a Victor that can be built very similar to the Victors you already have, or do you want a Victor that makes you do something different? It's up to you.
Personally, I'd just get them all.

I figure if I want to run the AC20 I can just run it on my 9S.
Too many choices.

9K cannot take an AC20. What's special about it is high JJ cap for gauss+(ER)PPC jump-sniping.
But, yeah. He's got the good ones.

the 9S is the better AC20/SRM brawler and the DS is the better Gauss/PPC poptart.
The biggest advantage the 9K has is the 3E in the left arm (triple larges is fun) as well is the 6 JJs.
I roll one of my 9Bs with a UC5, AC5, and AC2.

DS had 2 PPC and 2 AC5, or maybe 1AC5 and 1UAC5 in the right arm.
I also owned the VTR-9K but sold it to make room for new mechs. Looking back, it was definitely the weakest of all the VTRs in terms of hardpoints but I'd still recommend it over the 9B because you'd end up having a very similar build to your 9S anyways. Don't get me wrong, I think the 9B is more competitive than a 9K because you can put an AC20 in it but you'd end up with 2 mechs built out to be incredibly similarly.
The 9K would just serve a different purpose with its 6 Jump Jets, a 'fun mech. Put a fast XL engine in it, full JJ's and play it like a medium. I'm thinking of rebuying my old 9K back, as it would be fully mastered anyways. The extra module and the quirks haven't made it viable, but it'd still be neat to kick around in the 'mini Heavy Metal' (same hardpoints for the most part).

Maybe go for the 9K with AC10, 3xMPL, some SRMs and lots of heat sinks.
Some people use the 9K as a laser sniper, but I don't think it's very effective in that role. As for PPC+Gauss poptarting, it was never my thing and you may as well use the DS for that.

My advice: buy no Victor at all. Currently investing any Cbill into a Victor is wasted Cbill.
If you read the forum, Clanners complain about Gargoyle and Warhawk beeing weak and useless. However, both 80 ton clan mechs are still much better then any Victor in the current state.
Running Victors with XL engine in a time with laser alphas with 40 to 60 damage are quite normal is ... lets say quite brave.
I switched all my Victors to STD engines. But because of the low amount of energy hard points combined with insignificant quirks, Victors currently cannot compete, even with formerly bad mechs, as my newest addition to my hanger, the Thunderbolts.
If you want a good sub 100 ton assault mech, take a Stalker or a Banshee.

Great mech with 3 large lasers in the arm.

In fact, I think I'm going to retool my Victors and try some STD engines. Getting back to the K variant though, if you are going to get that one, I guess you should just know that you're getting a disadvantaged/non-competitive mech at the moment. I for one actually miss my K after selling it. It could never do as much damage as other variants but it was fun in that you'd have to work a little harder and think a little more strategically to get those big damage numbers.
