I took critical damage and suddenly very disruptive klaxon started flashing in my cockpit and never stopped. How the **** do i turn that off? it serves no purpose except to expedite my destruction through distraction. I actually have a HUD that gives me intimidate and accurate damage assessment, the flashing light is actually a hindrance to play. please remove.

He means the red light that comes on when your CT reaches "Critical Damage" and flashes.
Most of us just tune it out, but maybe OP has trouble doing that.

maybe using 'shift+f11' is enough for all HUD elements, not sure since I haven't had to try this yet.
Question is how sophisticated is current MWO to handle this? compared to what can be turned off? I dunno since I haven't even thought of testing these yet!

Only way is to not receive critical damage. Either that or run around with no armor in a locust - anything hits you you will skip the critical damage warning and simply explode.

The red flashing light is not part of the HUD, it's a cockpit element, part of the 3D world.
I don't know how easy it would be for PGI to implement a toggle for it, but as far as engine mechanics goes all it would need is a trigger override.

It's a feature and it's working as intended, so you need to bug Russ about it if you wish a resolution.
