Huh? I don't....think this is true. Are people really doing this? I have them only on mechs where they are a backup weapon (or the ember). Right now, Energy weapons are baller so...I dunno maybe I can see it. I don't really remember that many MGs lately.

Whether they're your thing or not, the Centurion is a glorious, venerable machine that deserves respect. It's a mech for true warriors.

Yeah, there are ways to abuse it for sure. The above isbjust the same as the machine gun variants of the -AH used now. Its disrespectful.

Using a CN9 without a BFG is like using a HBK4G with 3mg's. It's just wrong.

Last week I did see a DW w/ 6MG (i forget what else). Reminded me of a B-52 dropping a s***load of hand grenades.

However in regards to this thread;

This Arrow and JM6-DD (2 AC10/4 MG/2 ML) driver says NO!

Machine guns and AC2's were nerfed into the ground. Machine guns need the crits raised back up. And AC2's need their range back.

MG's have no range and do no damage. They sound cool. There is no reason to nerf them by causing them to jam...

I switched to 2xLBX10, 4xMG, 2xSRM6, 2xLL on my crab to use the extra ballistic slots. I figure once the other crabs are out for cbills I'll use one of the others for AC20s and the other one for the 4x UAC5.

It works about as well as the AC20 build (which had much smaller SRMs to make up the weight). I keep forgetting to actually fire the machine guns, though. o.o;
