No one's forcing you to actually equip cockpit items you don't want. Do you feel this way about having unused single heat sinks in your inventory too?

Things like the Rabbits foot giving a 1% extra crit chance.
The Mugs giving you a slight C-bill income. (pack mugs and mwo mugs)
Faction mugs (ghost bear for eg) and other faction content give a decent loyalty point bonus in CW.
Hanging bullet gives you 1 round of ammo extra for all ammo weapons.
Clapping Surrat gives 1 c-bill, exp, gxp, loyalty, etc per game.
Just minor stuff that makes things a bit cooler but not pay 2 advance or obliterate the enemy.
Just novelty stuff. (who knows, 1% crit isn't that bad, Machine guns fire hundreds of bullets with ease. that makes at least 1 bullet causing a crit faster/ easier per second...)

Oh yeah, and can we have pets? And can I upgrade my armor with magical power stones to reflect 5% laser damage? Can we switch from a heat system to a mana system? Can I make my pilot a level 80 mage?

Well if you call an Locouts or two for my Atlas an Pet? Hmmm....I would be in. But only with a sweet Pink Pony Camo.
But a Locust only gives +1 to small lasers. I'll take a Hollander that gives me +5 for Gauss And steel blue camo paint gives +1 armor! And it will only cost 500 mc

I also agree that SOME of the cockpit items should offer HIDDEN bonues.. Bullet, Mugs, Lighted strings and holograms (Maybe turn off when engine damge reaches a certain percent). Nothing big, and definately nothing published (otherwise people would buy just them)
I agree while this thread started out..dare I say it ..Stupid.. It can be turned benefical.

MWO LOGO STEIN - ? idek - texture on the stein looks like HL1 + put random generic mwo logo on it
RABBIT'S FOOT - i actually like it
SNOW GLOB - won it, looks rather nicely done
WISHBONE - so/so nothing fancy about it, then again.. it's a chicken bone so..
STANDING MONKEY - looks like a 2/10 first try fan mod (1 for "it has animation" another 1 for "it has textures")
FOUR LEAF CLOVER - this one i actually like quite a lot, simple luck charm
CLAN DAGGER STAR STEIN - stein texture is eww~ logo is generic, way to bright it's like "whoa you purchased preorder and endorsed our game?! here, have this cheap looking copypasta stein our student apprentice put together while he took a dump. then again, it's free so hey.

I still like my suggestion a long time ago - if you have every cockpit slot filled, you get 1 extra structural point to the head of your mech with all the items in it. Why? Because all the random items help protect the pilot a bit more... hehehehe...
Okay, yes, this is more of a joke idea, but I love the image of a guy's coffee cup exploding as it blocks the last bit of kinetic energy from a AC round or something... Not practical, but funny.

That would be nice as well; the only special mech in my hangar that actually has an engine and is not just a lawn ornament is my HBK-4G(F); I use that thing just about every day. All the rest were stripped of everything, and are sitting there collecting dust.

I agree. I would keep buying more mechs, and then never running them after I finished their skill trees. There are some mechs I always go back to though. My HBK-4G(F) is one of them.
