As requested by Hans Davion heres my guide to getting Mechwarrior 2 normal converted to 3DFX and enjoying it

Convert Mechwarrior 2 to 3DFX using this guide follow the guide all the way

http://www.calpoly.e...conversion.html

http://www.localditc...qs.html#convert

Link for the first 3DFX files don't work use the link on the second guide which is this

http://www.localditc..._Conversion.zip

And you get...

My Walkthrough Video which i haven't added to for a while i might do soon got 6 Falcon missions on so far for a nostalgia trip visiit my Youtube page Running it on a Pentium 4 XP laptop

As far as i can tell you can only get it working on XP i don't think you can get it working on vista you might be able to but my system is 64bit so my XP laptop runs Mechwarrior 2

guys realy you dont need XP to run this game ive got it on this PC right now and working extremly fine "Windows 7 Ultimate"

Step 1: get imgburn and get the cd in a BIN/CUE file

Step 2: get MechVM

Step 3: install the game via your Cd drive and then locate the CUE file from the cd burn "you install it from MechVM under install/import"

Step 4: press game then press play campain....."sometimes dosbox "under the Mechvm folder" needs compablity settings, but usually it dosent need any changes"

to fix the Mech 3 issue its achually a Fairly simple problem but a easly overseen one aswell you need to set the refresh rate on your screen down as that's causing all the havoc in the game to occure

Funny how so many of us still love the play of those old games.
Screw the graphics, its the game and the play.
I have the orig 3 MW2 (MW2, Ghost bear and Mercs) cds.

I wasnt able to get them running on Win 7 or Xp (didnt spend a lot of time trying to figure it out tho) BUT I did ahve this old computer in my closet that I remembered havin Win 98 on.

I opened the chassis to see what was in it. HDD, Floppy, CD (actually a DVD) Rom drive, Mother board with CPU and Simms. Hmmm. I dug around in a box that I had that had some parts in it. I found an old Sound Blaster PCI 128 and a VooDoo 4 4500 (32mg, lol) agp vid card and the install discs for both!

I turned on the old pc and it worked. Shock!! I defragged the 8gig disc, Installed the sound card and then the vid card and everything worked great.

I installed the 3 games and have played through them all here recently mostly to refamilarize myself with the criticals, ranges, and stuff you didnt get in MW4 series (bought MW3 for my son but I neverr got the chance to play it). The games are pretty fun too.

This "reborn" PC doesnt have a nic in it so no internet or maybe I would try some net mech, lol!!! used to love playing that, my son and I would go 'rent" time on a local business that had Lan parties. We would play for hours and get folks there to join in too.

great times
