So people say the game is healthy and has a high population? If so then PGI can easily implement separate queues for solo and pre-mades, they can put matches together based on player ratings (like that works!).

They can split players up to prevent sync grouping... IF the population is healthy! Just a small step to fixing CW. The list is long though....

After today I do not believe that, at least from a CW perspective. I had two hours to try and play some CW. After two hours I ended with a TOTAL of one drop, which was against the turrets. A complete waste of my time. I think they maybe have a few hundred people playing CW.

You do realize that the biggest reason there is sync dropping is because Faction Grouping isn't in play yet? Right?

Sync Dropping will end on the 20th when Faction Grouping is put in and you are able to build a group based off of faction instead of/in addition to Unit Groups.

Which is basically making sync dropping a game feature.

I think MudHutWarrior just exploded in an apoplectic fit.

Some nights CW is plain dead. Only a single planet being fought over. That is not what I call high population.

Dear Sir and/or Madam,

I truly enjoyed your post today. So much so, I found myself thinking, "I didn't want to swallow that sip of coffee anyway"
Also, could you recommend a good cleaning solution for an LCD monitor?

Yours truly,
The Interwebz

TL;DR
I lol'd

Gets back to the whole need to slow the pace down and make individual territory battles important and planet takign VERY significant.

Roadbeer, you made me lol for a good long time reacting to my observation. I'd hug you, but... it'd be awkward. So... yeah... here's more awkward.

Theres high population and theres high population.

Does MWO have a healthy, high population for a niche game in a niche genre, which is quite young and not on steam. Probably.

Does it have a population like WoW or DOTA? nope!

it all depends what you mean by 'high'. I seem to remember Russ saying something in town hall in response to someone asking why you can't attack any planet in the IS, just the ones on the fronts, & he said that MWO would need a player base like DOTA's to implement that.

Is this something that could happen post steam when the player base grows? Sure maybe. But while I don't think MWO is in trouble or anything player base wise, I don't think it could support your idea just yet. Its an idea thats been discussed a lot.

Every game that is not started from a private lobby should be part of cw. The current population isnt high to begin with and splitting cw from the old gamemodes was a very bad idea.

Faction grouping is a good thing but the lack of ingame faction chat channels prevents it from being great imo.

The game does have a sizable population, it's just not playing CW. Gameplay got old and repetitive real quick and the queue takes way too long.
