Rate it any way you want it. Rank it, from your feelings, put them into category, tiers, etc. Interested to see how people think. I'll start. I've used both IS and Clan weapons.

Primary Weapons: UAC20, and Gauss(Paired) Both are big damage dealers that I can rely on long range or in a brawl.

Best: C-LPL - Better version of a ERPPC, less heat, more damage, can be used to brawl, deals more damage than AC20 when paired. Lighter and more damage than a AC10. Only occupies the minimal 2 slots. only loses out on pinpoint.

Most Satisfying: Gauss, because it requires skill. I always smile when the gauss explosion hits someone and I rack up a kill. Very worth it to learn, despite steep learning curve. You can literally see your game getting better as you get more skilled with it. I only like to use it paired, and cannot brawl as well with it, so I have someways to go.

Most fun: SL (Any kind) Always fun to get into a brawl and do a punchout. You know you'll win because your SL cools down quicker, and you can spam it.

Favourite: CMPL. Twice as heavy a the CERML, but much shorter burn time. Easy to use, no need to think about heat sinks so much due to it eating weight away, spammable, fantastic in a brawl. Good range. I find that the CERML is better at a further range to catch an unaware mech, but sucks in a brawl, due to all the twisting and moving

Never use: LRMs. Never saw the appeal of them, very passive way to play. Still, I'm glad for LRM boats to soften targets before I close in for the kill

Worst: PPC (Any kind) More heat per damage than any other weapon around. Enough damage to change their colour, but never enough to kill them. Most engagements happen around 300-500m, where literally everything is more efficient. Slow, and even post-buff, you can dodge them if you're far away enough ie. the effective PPC range. I used them in a poptart CTF3D, and it was immensely boring. Pop up, PPC someone, moderately damage them (never enough to kill them), wait many many seconds to cool down, then repeat. Eventually switched to AC10 as my main weapon

Mine?

#1 = Medium lasers, for both factions.
#2 = Gauss, for both factions
#3 = IS LPL. Love me some WUB
#4 = CLAN MPL. Love me some Clan WUB.
#5 = IS AC5/UAC5 (when 2+ are mounted)
#6 = Clan LPL.

All others #7 or lower. I don't tend to mount weapons other than those with any sort of regularity.

LRMs and ACs for maximum satisfaction.

LPLs + MLs for boring but effective builds.

That's about it. Wish MGs and LBXs were useful. <_<

So do I. I have an LBX20 and SPL CauldronBorn that is amazing fun, but not nearly as effective as other laser builds.

The LBX20 is the best sounding weapon!

BLAAAAAAM!

Why medium lasers? Besides spamming it for mid range builds, the dps + heat + beam time isn't impressive.

But anyways.
Favorites: SPL, Gauss, LPL, maybe SRM for firepower, SSRM because special properties (though streak boats are the only thing my lights will not even think about engaging)

p.s. I don't really care too much about the weapons, only the builds
