I hope one day we will be able to spectate like this!
(with chat disabled of course...)

Real time, not so much. Drain on server resources, and massive cheat/exploit potential with 3rd party chat.

As far as communication only allow spectators to chat with spectators.
[edit] of course one could spectate and then relay information to friends via other means.

Queue my long-standing request for an instant-replay post match...
Personally I'd love to analyze my matches to see exactly how I screwed-the-pooch so I could avoid doing again.

Yeah, a replay feature would be awesome, its fun to watch good fights time and again.

The solution is simple, in that when you spectate, you can only see your team mates, and only enemy mechs that you team has LOS of.
Without LOS, they simply do not render.

Meh, useless... I mean no interest at all. I just like the 'watching a movie' feeling butnow I understand it will never happen because of 3rd party chat/audio. That suck...
Only solution to watch this is to move on to Vancouver and get hired by PGI.

Obviously Rhialto didn't read your full comment....
Yeah, they could do this too. Be weird though, worth trying...

Read it but as I said I wanted to see everything with no bad intentions, I'm not a cheater and just forgot about TeamSpeak and alike. I just liked the fact to sit down and watch the match with sound from the game, not from friends talking at the same time.

Since I know you're reading... tell me more how it happened. Do you usually have a high ping? Do you think it's related by some lag between you and the server? Just curious if one day I could experiment this... if it's ping related then I'm out being usually at 13ms.

I undertand. It's not the same as seeing the whole field, but like you said, there's issues with voip...
But hey, that's why there's UAV's, right? haha.
Still, you'd be able to get some pretty cool screenshots of your buddy, and create some cool videos even with something as limited as that.

IMHO I think this would benefit "new-players" more than any tutorial could...
In a lot of sport scenarios it's difficult to truly improve ones skills without watching oneself on video.
