So, just to put it out there.. how *viable* would it be to have maps randomly generated, both to provide replay ability, and offer new and interesting strategies to the mix.
With the amount of 3d, first person games out there *with* this feature, surely in some distant future this could become an achievable goal?

You have a better chance of seeing this in a next new BattleTech game than in this one. Too hard. I also would like it, but doubt in the possibility of it being realized in any future of this game.

I pray and hope this gets ADDED to MWO, but I wont hold my Breath!!!
But, this has to be addressed at some point. I mean, no matter how great PGI makes a new map, its only a SHORT matter of time before, every match, every person goes to the SAME area of the map. Time and Time and Time again.... /faceroll
There needs to be something that Mixes up the Maps, so its Not the same damn thing, Inch by Inch, Millimeter by Millimeter, every damn time!

Maps Need to be like "Clouds in the Sky" forever changing shape, never remaining the same!!!!

In Mass Effect, Bioware made the mistake of procedurally generating a great number of maps for optional worlds you can visit. They are a truly terrible experience.
It works in Diablo I, II and III because it's a 2D map with "set pieces" they can arrange randomly and they will fit together.
In 3D... look, it might be possible to have it not be a total disaster if they spend enough time tweaking the parameters. But there will always be edge cases, and the maps visually will never look very good. Among other things, texturing would be bland by necessity. The maps would seldom be fair. There is just no substitute for a map designer or an artist.

Its possible right now. Almost simple but the balance is something that cannot be controlled and it would in the vast majority of case lead to one sided games. Skill evaporates and luck dominates. Bad for the game
