360 degree torso twist will legitimately be extremely strong. You will be able to spread damage like a boss. Russ also said they're working to make it viable. If they give it Locust level quirks, or Hunchback level quirks, it'll be a monster. 30% CDR on AC10, 50% increased small laser range, and some increased ammo, and we're looking at a mech that will actually be quite frightening in CW.

I'll say it again - it can literally run away and shoot you at the same time, then turn around in whichever direction it chooses to best mitigate damage. That's beastly.

Ha ha..... My 55 ton Griffin 3M pretty much does that now. :P But yeah... it should be very interesting indeed.

It's a bit immersion breaking, I feel.

Getting the right scale for it is important to, thing is supposed to be SMALL for a mech, like smaller than even some of the 20 ton mechs. It packs more tonnage into less space to being a smaller target will be another advantage in addition to the 360 twist. I'm hoping for massive acceleration/deceleration buffs as well. Would be fitting to the theme and awesome if it was slow, but it could switch reach it's top speed in an opposite direction almost instantly, great for urban fighting since you could poke out and actually fade back behind the same cover without getting shot up.

Shhhh, give them there moment man, they've been going on and on and on and on... about this mech since the game started to be developed. Once its in the game and they realize how useless a 30 ton mech moving slower than an Atlas is, well then we will need to organize support groups for all the qqing that will occur.

Russ hinted that he does not know what max engine to put into the Urbie... and in fact it might go as fast as a Spider perhaps...

It will have stock a 60 engine... which would be the smallest engine in the game (currently 100 is smallest)....

I'll doubt we'll see many increments between 60 and 100 and maybe we'll end in the region of 175-225, that would be more than enough for those little mechs.

I think this will be the first mech that truly require SHS because there's not enough space.

Maybe they can quirk it to take less then 10 heat sinks. They really should do that for the Locust and Commando too.

Is anyone actually an Urbie fan ir do they just think it's funny?

My wallpaper is a Urbanmech.
On MW4, my whole Company was using Urban Mech and Urban Mech IIC during most of the Campaign.

I defeat the 5 Clan Wolf warriors in a UrbanMech.
I used UrbanMech whenever I could on MechCommander 2,
I use a Urban Spider on MWO

Yes, I am a true fan of the UrbanMech

Also: Loving the guys who obviously never heard of "MECHLAB".
I won't use a UrbanMech in his stock configuration (except for pure fun.)

But I will in the conntrary change him, give some more speed, another gun. Maybe a PPC. Heck we'll see the different hardpoint and what we can do.

Peoples use to say the Locust was useless. See the result? That little f*cker is an adorable mech to use now.

I always expected when the Urbie is released, the devs are scraping the bottom of the barrel for the last cash to be had before they close shop, and well here it's been announced....

Russ said he wasn't sure if people were serious about the Urban or people were just trolling, so depending on on the preorders, it may or may not be released.
